Axel Stenross, a Finnish ship’s carpenter, sailed across the mighty oceans on the windjammer sv Olivebank, reaching Port Lincoln in 1927 to load grain for Europe – and decided here was the place to stay.
Discover his story, and the lost craft of wooden boat building, at Axel Stenross Maritime Museum.

Bus tour and school groups are welcomed, as are community groups. The venue is available to hire for functions and the glassed-in veranda area boasts one of the best views of Port Lincoln and its harbour .
