For one day only Adelaide Gaol will be creaking open its doors to areas usually closed to visitors.
Adelaide Gaol, often whispered as one of South Australia’s eeriest landmarks, has housed some of the state’s most notorious felons. As one of the oldest remaining colonial public buildings in Adelaide, the site was open for business from 1841 to 1988, marking it as one of Australia’s longest continuously operational prison facilities.
As part of South Australia’s History Festival the gaol will host ‘History Day’ on Sunday 19 May from 10am – 4pm.
Special discounted entry will be on offer for just $5.90 per person (free for kids aged 0-3).
