“Risky business: Prediction of neurodegenerative disease” Lyndsey Collins-Praino (The University of Adelaide)
Who is most at risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases, such as dementia or Parkinson’s disease? Lyndsey’s research seeks to unravel the brain mechanisms that explain this, considering genetics/life history. Identification of risk is critical for early intervention, to drive better outcomes for patients.

“Stimulating change in the human brain” Mitchell Goldsworthy (University of South Australia)
The human brain is incredibly plastic, allowing us to learn new things and adapt to brain injury or disease. Dr Goldsworthy will discuss his work using magnetic stimulation to non-invasively induce plasticity in the human brain.
