Yalata – A Happy, Healthy and Safe Community

Exhibition and Shows

26 Apr 2024 to 28 Apr 2024 Daily Event

Yalata – A Happy, Healthy, and Safe Community is a vibrant celebration of Indigenous art and culture, set to make a significant impact at the Fringe 2024. The heart of this initiative lies in showcasing the creative talents of Yalata Artists, descendants of Pitjantjatjara Anangu desert people who were displaced from their Traditional Lands and brought to Yalata Mission in the late 1940s. The exhibition will feature a diverse collection of artworks and artefacts, each bearing the rich cultural heritage and contemporary expressions of these gifted artists.

Representing Yalata artists participation promises a dynamic blend of traditional and contemporary Indigenous art forms, including interactive workshops, live demonstrations, and storytelling sessions. The collaboration between Yalata Anangu Aboriginal Corporation and Red Poles Gallery reflects their shared commitment to advancing cultural enrichment, unity, and appreciation.
