Cliff top lookouts and walking trails allow you to choose your own favourite picture postcard views whilst the proud local school children, have set up their own marine life study centre that welcomes visitors by appointment during school terms.

Initially called Surveyor’s Point, the town of Port Vincent was laid out by an Adelaide Solicitor in 1877. Like most of the towns on the Yorke Peninsula, Port Vincent is an old port. It was once one of the old landing spots for the ketches going up and down the peninsula. In the 1900s a jetty was built and the port used to ship locally grown grain until 1970.
Port Vincent is an Urban Location area within the local government area of Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, it is located approximately 69kms from the capital Adelaide and extends over an area of 68.494 square kilometres. Port Vincent has a recorded population of 514 residents and is within the Australian Central Daylight Time zone Australia/Adelaide.
