Bairnsdale Tip Shop is not your average op shop. They are located at the Bairnsdale Landfill site and work hand in hand with the EG Shire and Tambo Waste.
They are managed by a committee under Bairnsdale Recycling Enterprise Inc. and are a not for profit social enterprise.
Their purpose and scope is to ‘divert from landfill and provide employment to people with barriers’.
They sell all manner of items from televisions, white goods, bric-brac, computers, bikes and sporting goods.
A large part of the business is the processing of mattresses and polystyrene.
Although out of town they are well worth the visit.
