Foodie Trails is a multi-award-winning food tourism experience provider, running cultural food walks, cooking classes and festivals and events. This cultural food walk offers Melbourne’s newest foodie experience as a different perspective on exploring the city on a tour.

From $160 to $165

This four hour walking tour through the streets of Melbourne will introduce you to some of the many layers of local favourite foods, architecture, and stories of the city.

Included in your tour is: a visit and introduction to the Immigration Museum, including access to special exhibitions. A progressive tasting through five stops of the Melbourne Foodie Culture Tour including stories around the history behind the foods and flavours of the shops. A wander through local spice shops to learn about the spices and ingredients from the different regions.

Things to keep in mind: this is a walking tour; the walk from the various venues is about 30-40 minutes in total with breaks at each stop, the longest walk no more than 15 minutes. They recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. It is not fast-paced and comfortable for most people.

Tours are run three times a week.

Located just seven kilometres from the CBD you can enjoy a coffee in an art deco building and taste your way through an Ethiopian wot, Indian curries, Malaysian hawker-style food and Somali tender spiced meats, best eaten with a banana. This cultural food walk will take you through the shops where local vendors will share stories and knowledge on their spices, artifacts and meat cuts, and if you bring a shopping bag, you never know what goodies you find to take home with you!

Tour includes a progressive tasting through 4-5 eateries including stories about the history behind the foods and flavours of the shops. A wander through local spice shops, butchers, and grocery stores catering to various cultures to learn about the spices and ingredients from the different region
