Lakes Explorer provides educative Wildlife Tours or Water-Taxi services around Lakes Entrance (Gippsland Lakes) using a modern and quick commercial four-passenger ferry.
All Water-Taxi and Wildlife Tours are run by Skipper Pete, a Certified ECO-Guide with Eco-Tourism Australia, a former National Park Ranger, land and marine, a qualified tour guide and member of Birdlife Australia and Wildlife Tourism Australia. Lakes Explorer is a Licensed Tour Operator (DEECA Parks Victoria).
Water-Taxi service (up to four passengers) is available to visit remote jetties and beaches that larger tour boats do not visit. Available on Gippsland Lakes, Lake Tyers and large Gippsland rivers. Fees are based on per trip. Available from Lakes Entrance to Barrier Landing, Rigby Island, Kalimna, Nyerimilang Homestead Jetty, Fraser Island Retreat (guests only), Nungurner or Metung.
Wildlife Boat Tours (two or three persons only) operate on the Gippsland Lakes or major rivers, with a focus on fur seals, pelicans and occasionally dolphins. One or two hour options departing from Lakes Entrance. Departs as required, if weather and tides are suitable.
Lakes-Explorer visits remote locations that do not have road access. Please bring suitable clothing, footwear and drink.

From $20 to $50
The Water-Taxi carries up to 4 passengers. Fees are based on per trip. Available from Lakes Entrance to Barrier Landing, Rigby Island, Kalimna, Nyerimilang Homestead Jetty, Fraser Island Retreat (guests only), Nungurner or Metung.
Wildlife Tours: 1 hour or 2 hour.
Either 2 or 3 passengers. Focus on wildlife and ocean entrance.
