Natural Attractions

McCrae Beach stretches for a few kilometres from the headland of Anthony’s Nose to Rosebud and is one of the better beaches along this strip of the Port Phillip coast. High cliffs are over the road behind and a pleasant wooded area between the beach and road. The picturesque white sandy beach is a pleasant place for a stroll even on a winters day.

A lovely beach to swim and relax and since it’s a bay, no real waves which is lovely on hot days when you just want to relax in the water. Perfect for paddle boarding too.

Cafes are across the road for takeaways and good coffee. This coastal strip is known as the foreshore and forms part of the 28km Bay Trail for walkers and cyclists that runs along the Port Phillip coastline from Safety Beach to Portsea.

Special features: barbecue, picnic shelter and small playground. Rinse off shower available at toilet block.

McCrae Beach is a leash-free beach from 7pm – 9pm during daylight savings. Always refer to signs at beach entry points as changes to dog restrictions may be made at any time by local authorities.
