Natural Attractions

Portsea Pier is located at Portsea ‘Front Beach’ which is nestled within a sandy cove named ‘Weeroona Bay. The pier is made up of two platforms and is a popular shallow spot for scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing.

Immediately to the left of the pier is a small sandy beach. Follow the walkway around the corner to a long narrow beach dotted with pretty bathing boxes. This section of the beach inspired the painting by Penleigh Boyd and is part of the Sorrento-Portsea Artist Trail.

To the right of the pier work is currently being undertaken to create a temporary rock bund to protect the sand bag wall during storms. Further to the right is a long narrow stretch of sandy beach.

The water is usually calm and relatively safe for swimming but the tidal currents increase offshore.

Street parking is available along Point Nepean Road in front of the pier area and strip of shops.
