Wangaratta – Eldorado Loop

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Starting from the Murray to Mountains Trailhead in Wangaratta, this intermediate gravel ride loop offers plenty of flexibility and is excellent for those eager to challenge themselves on a longer ride.

Explore well-maintained, compact rural roads that weave through the Mt Barambogie State Forest and the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. Pedal rolling terrain and moderate climbs for stunning views of Mt Buffalo and the Great Dividing Range while never feeling too far away from town. Don’t miss the retired Eldorado Dredge, one of the largest historic dredges in the Southern Hemisphere. After a shorter option? Turn off at the Eldorado-Byawatha Road to reduce the climbing by half and shorten the route by almost 10km.

Elevation gain – 702m
Water and Toilets – Apex Park, Wangaratta; Bowser Stations at 6.4km and 59.4km; and Eldorado township
