Journeys We Are On

Long ago, ancestors roamed and prayed for a bright future. Hundreds of years later, they found their place here – Ballarat.
Today, they celebrate the Chinese culture in Ballarat by fully immersing themselves in sound, visual, spiritual, taste and hands-on experiences.

Featuring a 15-meter-long traditional Chinese Scroll drawing depicting The Classic of Mountains and Seas takes you on a spiritual journey. Amongst these, are oil paintings of Ballarat historical buildings and landscapes.

Join in to get a glimpse into the past and a taste of the future through our storytelling film by two generations of Chinese Ballarat citizens. The forgotten historical photographs, documents and illustrations will largely contribute to the film.

Sit down at Chinese traditional ink painting workshop, learn and experiment with art guided by a Ballarat local Chinese artist.
