Capturing the Essence of Old Mutawintji Gorge: Annika Romeyn’s Evocative Exhibition Unveiled.

Annika Romeyn, acclaimed artist and recipient of the 2022 Broken Hill City Art Gallery’s Open Cut Commission, invites the public to immerse themselves in her latest exhibition centered on the transformative experience of entering Old Mutawintji Gorge in the Mutawintji National Park, north east of Broken Hill.

The exhibition, a profound response to her camping journey in Mutawintji National Park on Barkindji and Malyangapa Country, promises to be a visual and contemplative journey for art enthusiasts.

Having revisited the same sites in 2023, Romeyn’s latest works build upon her initial exploration, seeking to deepen and extend her ongoing engagement with the natural landscape. A selection of these works, initially showcased at her solo exhibition ‘Inward’ at the Broken Hill Regional Gallery in late 2023, forms a crucial part of this upcoming exhibition.
