Immersion: On Country

Immersion on Country is a visual story of the influence the landscape has on the featured artists, Marina Strocchi and Beth Williams. Each artist has responded to the timeless quality of Country and its changing moods – reflecting the light and the ephemeral nature of the surrounding farmland, bushland and hills that envelop the Yarra Valley. Sometimes reminiscent of other landscapes, but always uniquely “home”.

There is something about where they live, work and play that inspires them. For Marina, it’s the journey between home and her studio and how it reminds her of her the Italian countryside where her father is from. For Beth it’s how she feels when she is surrounded by the landscape – the smells, textures, light and shadow.
