Phaedrus have extended opening hours over the peak summer period. Please visit the website for a full list of opening days and times, along with details of closed days. They wish you a fabulous festive season, and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2024.
Phaedrus Estate was established in 1997. More than twenty years later Ewan Campbell and Maitena Zantvoort are still enjoying the challenge of making Pinot Noir and other cool-climate varietal wines, including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Shiraz. 2017 saw the release of a new varietal wine- Fiano. There’s also a sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay and dry Pinot Rosé to try at the cellar door.
Their cellar door is open every weekend and have an extensive range of wines on tasting and also sell cheese platters if you’re feeling peckish! They are a small cellar door, so have a maximum group limit of six adults. Dogs are welcome on a lead. For further details, please visit the website for all the latest information.
Most days you will find Ewan or Maitena at their cellar door, taking guests through a relaxed tasting. They love chatting with people about their wines, as well as winemaking and grape growing. Both are happy to share their knowledge, about things as simple as how red wine is made, through to complex questions about clones and soil chemistry.
