Peerick Vineyard and Winery
Food and Drink Warrenmang, Pyrenees, Victoria
Peerick in the heart of the rugged Australian Pyrenees, is a fusion of ancient cultures, spiritual connections, a healthy ecosystem and ongoing commitments to sustainability and biodiversity.
First planted back in the 1990s, the undulating slopes of the Pyrenees capture the abundant sunlight and cool air movement from the surrounding hills. This, together with its deep clay, rocky and quartz laden soils provides the ideal location for the production of high quality grapes.
The name, derived from the Aboriginal word ‘Beeric’; the wild cat, was bestowed on the Pyrenees by its traditional custodians, the Dja Dja Wurrung. Their beliefs and dreamtime stories, together with the ancient triskele from their Celtic culture, are depicted on their distinctive labels. A representation of both cultures close spiritual connection to the earth, water, sky and its creatures – in essence, the vineyard’s terroir. All working in harmony to produce distinctive, multi-award winning range of hand-nurtured red and white wines. Sláinte.
