Point Road Camp at Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park
Where To Stay Boranup, Augusta-Margaret River, Western Australia
Located in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, Point Road Camp has access to the coast via a sandy track. The beach and rocky shores themselves, though, can only be accessed by foot.
Fishing is not permitted.
Strong coastal winds and heavy surf can be a danger at this beach, and the limestone of the coast is prone to collapse. Observe all warnings in the park and ensure you check tide predictions and weather warnings before your trip.
Other beaches within the Park provide safe zones for swimming, snorkelling and diving, as well as fishing in the appropriate zones. The Cape-to-Cape Trail passes right by the campground and rock-climbing is also possible in certain locations.
Accessible only by 4WD, Point Road Camp is an open campground without separate campsites. There is space for seven tents and small 4WD campervans.
Generators are not permitted. Bookings cannot be made.
Campfires are usually permitted between 1 April and 30 November (bring-your-own firewood) but be sure to check fire restrictions prior to your trip.
Park entry fees apply.
Tourists are advised to check for alerts and road/park closures before commencing their travel on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au.
