Located in Cape Range National Park, Mesa Camp has access to a wide, sandy beach and Ningaloo Marine Park for swimming, snorkelling, recreational fishing, and launching canoes and kayaks.
It is possible to launch small boats from the beach but drivers are cautioned that there is a risk of vehicles becoming stranded in the soft sand.
The nearby Ningaloo Marine Park also offers diving and surfing, as well as a chance to see whalesharks, marine turtles and humpback whales.
Mesa Camp itself is an ‘open’ campground without separate individual sites and space for 14 motorhomes, caravans and camper trailers that are too large to be accommodated at other campgrounds in the park.
Campfires are not permitted at any time. No fresh water is available.
Peak season is April (or from Good Friday in years when Easter falls in March) to October, and queues can be long, particularly during holiday periods.
November to March is cyclone season: check alerts for notification of parks closures.
Park entry fees apply at Cape Range National Park.
Tourists are advised to check for alerts and road/park closures before commencing their travel on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au.
