Notch Point Camp at Dirk Hartog Island National Park
Where To Stay Dirk Hartog Island, Shark Bay, Western Australia
Notch Point Camp is located in Dirk Hartog Island National Park, making it the perfect destination for a snorkelling and diving holiday.
Visitors can enjoy the beautiful coral of the Shark Bay Marine Park, as well as a number of reef fish including coral trout, blue-lined emperor and scribbled angelfish.
Notch Point Camp itself is one of six designated campgrounds in the area, but only one of three sites accommodating boat-based campers.
Accessible only by four-wheel drive (4WD), it has no facilities and is essentially a wilderness camping experience, so please look after the island while camping and it will still be in good condition the next time you visit.
Campfires are not permitted.
Campers are advised to bring enough drinking water for the duration of their stay.
For more information, please visit the Department of Parks and Wildlife’s ParkStay website.
Tourists are advised to check for alerts and road/park closures before commencing their travel on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and https://alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au.
