New Norcia is the only monastic town of its type in Australia. It is a beautiful, picturesque, historic town owned and operated by a community of Benedictine monks.
New Norcia is home to many historic buildings dating back to 1847, including the New Norcia Hostel and the old Byzantine and Gothic-style colleges.
Since the closure of the schools, the town has become a very popular tourist destination, with daily guided tours, a Museum and Art Gallery, and overnight accommodation in the Monastery Guesthouse. Groups can be accommodated in a variety of upgraded accommodation options, including catering and special events.
New Norcia is a mere hour and a half drive north of Perth through picturesque farmlands and quaint country towns.

Bed and Breakfast is offered at the Monastery Guesthouse ($60 pp/pn), or full board (includes lunch, and dinner) for $100.
Opportunities for group bookings in the Hostel, St Gertrude’s College, and St Ildephonsus’ College are also available (prices vary). Private retreats are available in the Guesthouse Hermitage ($110/pn full board).
