Munurru (King Edward River) Campground

Munurru Campground is the first campground when you cross over the King Edward River into Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau) and is managed by the Traditional Owners, the Wunambal Gaambera people and their Uunguu Rangers. The campground is open annually from 1 May to 15 October.

The highlight of visiting Ngauwudu is Punamii-Uunpuu (Mitchell Falls) and Munurru Campground – it is an ideal place to make your base camp to explore the area with easy day access to these iconic falls.

The campsites are spacious and serene, set in true Kimberley bush. There is wonderful river swimming, nearby waterfalls, Wanjina Gwion rock art and tours, campfires (BYO firewood), bird-watching, wildlife, bushwalking, toilets.

To camp at Munurru you must be the holder of an Uunguu Visitor Pass (UVP), which provides Traditional Owner permission to visit approved visitor locations on Wunambal Gaambera Country. Purchase online on their website or from the Kimberley Visitor Centre.

Guided rock art tours are available from Munurru and can be booked on arrival at the Ranger Base Camp.

Pets are not permitted.
