Be totally immersed in the lush Jarrah forest as you meander alongside the Collie River from Wellington Dam to Honeymoon Pool!

As you set off on your hike, you’ll stop to take in the biggest dam mural in the world at Wellington Dam Mural. Painted by world-renowned artist Guido Van Helten, this 8000 square metre statement piece, titled Reflections was created from photographs and stories from the local area and is incredibly impressive!

Leaving the Wellington Dam, enjoy the tranquil sounds of the water cascading down the rocks and the delightful scents of the forest as you hike the Jabitj Trail for 12 wonderful kilometres. As you make your way to Honeymoon Pool, admire the rolling hills and glorious vistas with granite outcrops aplenty. Stop for a break mid-hike to enjoy a delicious and nutritious morning tea that will recharge you just enough to finish your hike.

After working up an appetite on your hike through Wellington National Park, you’ll head to the Harris River Estate Winery for a delicious platter of local products. To accompany your grazing experience, enjoy either a wine fight, beer paddle or gin paddle.

Bluff Knoll (Bular Mial) is the highest peak in the South West, standing proud and tall at 1099 metres above sea level. The three-kilometre hike to the summit is challenging but incredibly rewarding!

Experience the mystery and intrigue of Bluff Knoll. Hike on the walking trails to the summit taking in the expansive views of the Stirling Range as you go. This hiking trail is steep in parts and there are lots of steps to conquer. This experience will, however, have you feeling empowered and on top of the world as you reach the summit.

Enjoy a delicious morning tea with local sweet treats from Mt Barker Bakery. Be enveloped by the magic of the Stirling Range National Park.

Koi Kyenunu-ruff means ‘mist moving around the mountains’ – a frequently seen occurrence in the Stirling Range. If you’re lucky, you will be able to witness this event first-hand at the summit.

Tick Bluff Knoll off that ‘bucket list’, and go ‘off the beaten track’! Hike to the top of not just the highest peak of the Stirling Ranges and Australia’s South West.

The Cape to Cape is a spectacular multi-day hike that takes you along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge between the lighthouses of Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. This world class and incredibly diverse trail features stunning scenery including coastal clifftops and headlands, caves, blow holes, pristine beaches, waterfalls, rock climbs, karri forest, a hidden oasis, river mouth crossings plus so much more.

Join Off the Beaten Track WA for an incredible End-to-End experience hiking West Australia’s premier coastal long-distance trail, the Cape to Cape Track! Jump, scramble and explore the South West coast by foot and in the ocean on the Cape to Coasteering Experience. Learn about the geology, flora and local history as you hike four kilometres along one of Australia’s best trails, the Cape to Cape Track, followed by an exhilarating Coasteering session at Wyadup Rocks!

Coasteering is a blend of rock-hopping, shore-scrambling, swell-riding, and rock jumping creating the ultimate aquatic adventure. You will be kitted out with a wetsuit, buoyancy vest and a helmet before we jump in the water! You’ll rock-hop, climb and jump around the ancient granite coastline as the current surges and ebbs, making your way across the natural canal to where very few people get to. Depending on the season, you may spot whales or dolphins frolicking in the ocean nearby.

This experience is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness who can swim 25 metres unaided.

Margaret River Adventure Co is the only Coasteering Operator in Australia, and the team have partnered with them to bring you an exhilarating experience that allows you to experience the Indian Ocean up close!

The Southern Forests and Valleys region is located in WA’s beautiful South West and features some of the tallest karri, jarrah, marri and tingle trees in Western Australia. These sky-scraping trees have a lush understory with wildflowers, moss and fungi which makes for a delight when hiking through the forests. Off The Beaten Track WA has carefully crafted a very special Southern Forests Weekender featuring the best hiking trails around Pemberton, Western Australia.

You’ll hike through the forests by day and relax and unwind in your chalet set amongst the karri trees by night. Plus dine at the best local wineries and restaurants including Karri Valley Resort and Treehouse Tapas Bar. Board the OTBT bus in Baldivis and make your way to the South West region of Western Australia. After a coffee stop at the Crooked Carrot Cafe, stop to take in the biggest dam mural in the world – the Wellington Dam Mural. Leaving Wellington Dam, enjoy the scenic drive to Honeymoon Pool, where you’ll stop for a short three kilometre stroll to stretch your legs and have some delicious morning tea by the cascades before you venture on to the small regional town of Collie.

Meet Simone from Traaverse at the beautiful Minninup Pool, who will guide you through a two-hour paddle up the Collie River.

After working up an appetite on the kayaks, head to the Harris River Estate Winery for a delicious gourmet grazing board of local products accompanied by your choice of either a wine fight, beer paddle or gin paddle.

Join an epic fun-filled weekend in the Great Southern Region to experience the breathtaking Bluff Knoll at sunrise and ruggedly scenic Mt Talyuberlup for sunset!

Get ready for a jam-packed hiking experience! Climb the tallest peak in the Great Southern- Bluff Knoll! At 1098 metres, Bluff Knoll is truly spectacular. The climb up to the top may feel like a never-ending staircase but you will be well rewarded with impeccable views as you walk through the clouds and watch the sunrise from above them.

After a hearty breakfast and a nap, tackle one of the ruggedest peaks in the Stirling Range – Mt Talyuberlup, which stands proud at 724 metres. It might not be the tallest, but it is a mighty and rugged peak offering you the chance to peek through a large cave, scramble up over rocks and enjoy 360-degree views from the summit. The steep climb and scramble up the scree will leave you feeling exhilarated and once you lay your eyes on that glorious sunset you will literally be feeling on top of the world!

Hiking from the Golden Valley Tree Park in Balingup, through the Jarrah forests of Greenbushes, across rolling hills to the Blackwood Valley then finishing off this three-day hiking adventure by trekking through the towering Karri trees into Donnelly River Valley.

You will experience parts of the South West of Western Australia that are only accessible on foot on this three-day adventure off the beaten track in WA!

This is a multi-day hiking experience carrying your own gear and being completely immersed in nature for three full days.

Trekking from the famous Donnelly River Village to Pemberton in WA’s South West region, you will be totally immersed in the spectacular Southern Forests!

You will be expertly guided through lush karri and jarrah forests, rolling country hills, huge fallen trees turned into makeshift bridges, flowing rivers, tranquil cascades, around picturesque dams as you ride the infamous Donnelly River Rollercoaster!

You are invited to experience the great South West along parts of the magical Bibbulmun Track that are only accessible by foot.

This is the perfect adventure off the beaten track and a great one for intermediate-skilled adventurers with a good level of fitness to challenge themselves.

You are invited to experience the great South West along parts of the magical Bib track that are only accessible by foot.

This is the perfect adventure off the beaten track and a great one for beginners to dip their toes into multi-day hiking.

After setting up Basecamp at the Stirling Range Retreat, enjoy a delicious dinner and a nice relaxing evening around the campfire. Up early the next morning, set off to the majestic Bluff Knoll with head torches on ready to experience the breathtaking sunrise views from the mountain top. This truly is a magnificent experience and something you’ll never forget!

After that monster climb back to Basecamp for a big cooked breakfast and some free time to rest and recharge your legs before the afternoon hike up the ruggedly scenic and steep – Mt Talyuberlup!

On day Three, start the day with a hearty breakfast before we head to the Porongurups to explore three stunning trails: Devil’s Slide, Nancy’s Peak and the really impressive Castle Rock Granite Skywalk! The beauty of moss-covered granite rocks and fallen trees, unique fungi, lush forest and plenty of granite boulders and slopes makes the Porongurups a very special place indeed. As you climb the ladder up to the top of the Granite Skywalk, your Great Southern Adventure is coming to an end, but the memories from this long weekend will last a lifetime!
