Busselton Cultural Precinct

Galleries, Museums and Collections

Discover Busselton Cultural Precinct – where creativity lives! It is a creative hub for the visual and performing arts housed in beautiful heritage-listed buildings.

Once linked to the Jetty, the Courthouse, built in 1860 is one of the oldest buildings in Busselton. Walk through the buildings and feel the history within their walls. Explore the gaol cells and imagine being locked up for 14 days for disorderly conduct in a public place.

The Old Courtroom Gift Shop reflects the transition from a colonial courthouse to a modern-day art house. You’ll discover a range of high-quality local art, jewellery, pottery, glasswork, cards, photography and woodwork.

Set in the rear courtyard of the complex, there are artist-in-residence studios where you can meet the artists and see them at work.

A sheltered courtyard, bush food garden and life-size bronze sculptures augment the ambience of the precinct.

The Cultural Precinct is also home to the Weld Theatre, Acting Up Performing Arts Academy, Busselton Art Society and the Lockup Coffee House.

In 2024, a new performance space and gallery will open in the precinct. Saltwater Busselton will host touring performances and exhibitions.
