The Munda Biddi Trail

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Pedal your way through pristine forest on the Munda Biddi Trail, a world-class off-road cycling experience made for those who yearn to get off the beaten track.

Running from the unspoiled bushland of the Perth Hills to seaside Albany, this 1,060-kilometre-long trail is like no other. Meander through scenic river valleys and ancient forests of towering eucalyptus, and enjoy the landscape whizzing past as you adventure through this beautiful natural habitat.

Offering year-round cycling for all ages and experience levels, the Munda Biddi Trail starts in the leafy village of Mundaring in the Perth Hills, a 30-minute drive from Perth, and finishes in the former whaling town of Albany in the state’s south-west. Not ready to commit to the whole route? The trail is easily accessible by car at various points along the way, so you can explore a smaller section of the purpose-built track over a few hours or day or overnight.

Munda Biddi means ‘path through the forest’ in the local Nyoongar Aboriginal language, and it invites you to chart a course thorough a diverse landscape of ancient bushland and tall-tree forests, wind-swept coasts and rolling pastures. Strap on your helmet and succumb to tranquillity on this unforgettable two-wheeled experience, where the only sounds you’ll hear are the crunch of leaves and the chirp of birdsong.
