Mann Winery
Food and Drink Baskerville, Swan, Western Australia
Visit industry veteran Dorham Mann at his family winery and taste traditional method sparklings, including one of Australia’s most unusual wines, made with Swan Valley’s very own Cygne Blanc grape.
Established in 1988, industry veteran Dorham Mann and his daughter Anthea release just two traditional method sparkling wines a year at this unassuming property in the Swan Valley with a cult-like following. Reviewed as ‘Australias most unusual wine’, by James Halliday, the wine sparkling is made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cygne Blanc. Cygne Blanc is a grape variety that originated from a fortuitous planting at the property in 1989. It is thought to be the only of its type in Australia and is patented by the Mann family.
The winery produces a Cygne Blanc sparkling and a Rose Brut. The distinctive Cygne Blanc is a dry, faintly pink sparkling wine made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cygne Blanc varieties grown on the estate.
The understated Mann cellar door sits beside the action, with an upper level overlooking the winery’s equipment.
