Albany Port

Cruise Terminals and Airports

Stepping ashore at Albany Port, you’ll walk in the footsteps of the first European settlers in Western Australia and see whaling and ANZAC stories come to life against a backdrop of some of the most dramatic coastal landscapes and tall tree forests.

Located on the north shore of Prince Royal Harbour, Albany Port lies just to the east of the town centre, and there’s a free shuttle bus service to take you to and from town.

As the site of WA’s first port and European settlement, there are almost two centuries of colonial history here, with around 50 restored historic buildings standing proudly as museums, galleries and restaurants.

The Ellen Cove to Albany Port walk trail gives you a great introduction and leads you to the replica of the Brig Amity for a fascinating insight into the journey the early settlers took. Between May and November, you may even spot migrating humpback, southern right and blue whales in the harbour.

Local tour operators provide easy access to more must-see attractions, including the National ANZAC Centre, Torrindup National Park, the historic Whaling Station and Discovery Bay, the Great Southern wine region and the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk.
