Jandakot Airport
Tourist Information & Services Jandakot, Cockburn, Western Australia
Jandakot Airport is where bucket list dreams take flight. Experience the magic of flying in the open cockpit of a Tiger Moth. Enjoy a roller coaster ride of loop-the-loops and barrel rolls on an acrobatic flight. Take the controls in a Cessna, or a 777 flight simulator (the only one of its kind in Australia and New Zealand). Train for your recreational or private pilot licence. Take in jaw-dropping aerial views on a scenic flight over Perth’s iconic skyline and Indian Ocean coast. Or explore beyond the city, with flights to Rottnest Island, the Margaret River wine region, the Pinnacles, Abrolhos Islands and Monkey Mia.
Located just over 20 minutes’ drive south of Perth’s central business district (or just over an hour by public transport), the airport has excellent flying conditions almost all year round, with long hours of sunlight and good weather. It also provides access to essential service organisations, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, DEC/DFES Bushfire Water Bombers, RAC Rescue Helicopter and the Western Australian Police Air Wing.
Aviation enthusiasts can take in all the comings and goings of this busy airport from the Public Viewing Area on Eagle Drive, adjacent to the Air Traffic Control tower.
