Canberra Railway Museum

Galleries, Museums and Collections

All aboard for a step back in time at Canberra Railway Museum!

Located in the historic suburb of Kingston, take a guided tour with the friendly and knowledgeable volunteers and be whisked away to the golden age of rail travel.

The collection includes locomotives, carriages, and artefacts, from across more than 100 years! Ride in style aboard a luxury Pullman carriage, make yourself comfy in a Southern Aurora sleeping car, or man the controls of a vintage railmotor!

The museum is home to historic locomotive 1210, one of the oldest surviving steam engines in Australia, and the very first train to arrive in Canberra all the way back in 1914.
