National Capital Authority Guided Group Tours

Cultural and Theme Tours

The National Capital Authority (NCA) is the federal government agency in charge of planning, promoting and maintaining Canberra as the National Capital.

In fulfilling this role, the NCA offers free access to the story of Canberra through the National Capital Exhibition at Regatta Point. They also offer a variety of guided group tours and self-guided walking tours across the National estate.

Further, the NCA cares for and manages the National Triangle precinct.

Free and accessible 365 days a year, the National Triangle is a Cultural Institution without walls. Home to the Cultural Icons, this precinct houses the national treasures, cherished monuments, and stories of Australia’s people.

Technically defined by the great triangle created by the three avenues: Kings, Commonwealth and Constitution Avenues, the National Triangle is home to some of Australia’s most important cultural institutions.

Spend the day in pristine Commonwealth Park, take a self-guided walking tour, have lunch by the water, or visit an art gallery or library.

There’s so much to do in the National Triangle, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again to take it all in.

Walks explore some of the 11 memorials along the ANZAC Parade. Anzac Parade was officially opened on 25 April 1965 to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the Anzac landing in Gallipoli. ANZAC is the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula on 25 April 1915.

The national capital’s major ceremonial avenue is set along the Land Axis which forms a key feature of the original 1912 plan for Canberra by Walter Burley Griffin.
