Fonda Mexican

Bars

This is a tale of two hungry and ambitious twenty-somethings — Tim and Dave — who had an appetite for tacos, margaritas and adventure.

In 2010, after a whirlwind scoping trip to Mexico, the dastardly duo burst onto the Melbourne restaurant scene with a sweet little Mexican joint on Swan Street. And ever since, they’ve satisfied the cravings of hundreds of thousands of hungry punters.

Hot, saucy, and fresh. Fonda is Mexican that makes you hot under the collar. Meet them south of the border — at one of their restaurants across Australia — for the love of fiery flavours, good times and of course, guac. Mouth-watering and highly addictive, they’ll have you coming back again and again. Or maybe that’s just the margs.

In Mexico, a ‘fonda’ is a home that a family opens up to their local community as an unofficial restaurant, a relaxed place where folks can come get a feed in good company. This idea really resonated with founders Tim & Dave, so much so that it kinda inspired their whole vibe, name and business ethos.
