Yalwal is ideal for relaxing in an unspoiled wilderness environment with abundant wildlife or as a base for active pursuits such as bushwalking, canoeing, swimming and cycling.
Yalwal is an old gold prospecting area located 30 kilometres southwest of Nowra. It has two large picnic areas.
The water is not suitable for drinking. No fires are allowed in the area.
A historic cemetery and the remnants of some old gold mines can be found there. Caution should be taken near mine shafts.
Yalwal Recreational Area is open for day use only – no camping at this time.

You can choose from two picnic grounds both of which have toilets, water (not for drinking) and bins for recycling.
Firewood is not provided at Yalwal and should be brought in if required. Please check for information regarding fire bans.
