Hand collecting seafood using sustainable methods is a truly rewarding and memorable experience. However, for many, entering an unfamiliar environment without the required knowledge, experience and equipment can lead to limited success. For this reason, ACWA have developed a unique experience where they share knowledge of hand collecting, preparing and cooking premium locally available seafood.
The guides, who have decades of experience in coastal foraging, wish to share the secrets and pleasures of this unique activity with a limited number of fortunate guests.
As the seasons change so does the offering. With each passing season tailoring the foraging efforts and menu to reflect what is seasonally available. Through this conscious decision, they hope to deliver the very best seasonal offerings in the region while also minimizing the impact on the local coastal environment.
ACWA’s Ocean to Plate experience is an opportunity for guests to create a memory for life. The full-day experience caters to a wide variety of interests including adventure, education, gourmet food, nature, local insights, marine life, and much more. This unique experience provides a truly authentic insight into the very best of the lifestyle to be enjoyed on the Sapphire Coast.

The Beowa National Park Explorer is a great way to unwind while getting off the beaten track. Along with a great snorkelling experience, you can take the time to explore some of the land-based attractions Bewoa National Park has to offer over the course of a memorable day.
In the water, you can expect to encounter resident Wobbegong Sharks, Port Jackson Sharks (friendly sharks) and graceful Eagle Rays. Along with a myriad of other fascinating marine life. Due to its relatively narrow opening to the sea, Bittangabee Bay offers a high level of protection from the forces of the ocean. As such, the conditions within Bittangabee Bay are often clear and calm, making for perfect snorkelling.
On the land it is not uncommon to encounter some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife such as Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Goanna’s, White Bellied Sea Eagles and the ever entertaining Superb Lyre Bird to name a few.
As a part of the Bewoa National Park Explorer your guide will stop at Disaster Bay Lookout and Greencape Light Station. Both sites offering spectacular coastal views and world class land-based whale watching opportunities. A healthy homemade light lunch and refreshments are also provided.

Snorkelling is a fun, relaxing, and exciting activity that allows you to become a part of a fascinating underwater world. Each snorkelling experience provides opportunities to explore, learn and grow as you begin to understand the complex relationships occurring in the marine ecosystems encountered.
The Sapphire Coast consists of roughly 160 kilometres of spectacular coastline spanning from Bermagui in the north to close to the Victorian border in the south. Many features including headlands, embayments, coastal inlets, lakes, quaint coastal villages, swaths of stunning bushland and an abundance of undisturbed beaches make up the coastal fringe.
Running parallel to this much-adored coastal fringe is a narrow expanse of shallow kelp-covered reefs that are buffered by the sandy bottom. These reefs provide robust habitats for all manner of marine life that can be seen a short distance from the shore in many locations.
As the name suggests the ‘Sapphire Coast’ is consistently graced with the presence of stunningly clear water. For these reasons, and many more (those that must be experienced first-hand) the Sapphire Coast is a snorkel diver/marine enthusiast’s paradise. Eden is the perfect place to start and continue your snorkelling journey.

Jervis Bay is an expansive oceanic bay fringed with stunning white sand beaches and pristine native bushland. The bay is peppered with rocky outcrops/headlands and walking trails that provide convenient access to an abundance of shallow temperate water reefs that are teaming with life. Many of these reefs are protected from fishing as they form parts of the Jervis Bay Marine Park. As a result, these areas are a delight for underwater observers as they are bursting with life. To add to the allure of Jervis Bay is the consistent presence of crystal clear water, shelter from most prevailing weather and very forgiving water temperatures. Considering all of the above, it is fair to say Jervis Bay is the perfect place to begin your snorkelling journey.
Australia’s Coastal Wilderness Adventures have extensive knowledge of dive sites, weather, marine life and snorkelling techniques, and will ensure you have a safe, enjoyable and insightful experience.
