Port Stephens, Broughton Island, the only island on the NSW coast where camping is not only permitted but it is encouraged by NSW National Parks.

Walking Rivers has tailored a two-day kayak and camping experience on the island designed to give anyone an unforgettable getaway experience.

The 148-acre island is only an hour kayak paddle across a relatively protected strip of water that anyone with moderate fitness can paddle.

Once on the island, you will experience seclusion and a unique view of the Australian mainland that not many people ever witness.

Depending on the season you choose to go in you can often paddle up close to Humpback Whales in winter, Dolphins in summer and sometimes turtles.

In spring the island is covered in wildflowers, and the birdlife is prolific through the summer months.

Many of the campsites are very secluded and boat accessible only in addition to being right in the heart of the Myall Lakes National Park.

Furthermore, the campsites are home to a wide variety of Australian wildlife, and you will have the opportunity to observe many of the animals up close.

Newcastle Abseiling Adventure in the Watagan National park is very much a social event. Abseiling delivers an enormous sense of personal accomplishment and satisfaction like very few other ou tdoor pursuits. Additionally, as well as being good for the mind, it is good physically as well.

You can choose only to descend and walk back to the top, a form of passive exercise or for the more agile and fit person, there is always the option of climbing back up the cliff. Climbing up is very physically demanding and great exercise while having fun.

They are observing unparalleled scenery while Abseiling making it undoubtedly one of the top highlights for the Newcastle Abseiling Adventure.

Their half-day abseiling adventure has been structured specifically for visitors to the Hunter Valley wine-growing region.

Visitors that may be looking for a bit more excitement and an experience that is unique to the area.

The half-day allows you plenty of time to complete both training on the 20-metre cliff and then to abseil down the sixty metre Mega Drop. You will be back in the vineyards in time for lunch and wine tasting in the afternoon.

Their Hunter Valley Abseiling Adventure is one of the few activities that they can operate every day of the year. They only ask that you dress for the prevailing weather, wear a pair of running shoes, and bring your camera.
