GNT Geotrail and Nature Tours

GNT Geotrail and Nature Tours run guided nature and culture walks along Newcastle’s spectacular coast, through Glenrock State Conservation Area and beyond.

They offer an opportunity to explore the beautiful coast and bushland with local guides, all on Newcastle’s doorstep.

Escape and breathe in nature amongst peaceful cascades and waterfalls, rainforest and spotted gum forests, golden beaches and rock platforms teeming with life.

Experience the diverse local flora and fauna, fascinating Aboriginal and European history, and the geological processes that have shaped the landscape.

They run regular tours for up to 20 people, as well as custom experiences for private groups, excursions, events or celebrations.

Their tours are run by locals, and are licenced with an EcoPass by NSW National Parks and Wildlife.

A 2 hour, 5 km one-way guided geotrail and nature walk from Nobbys Beach to the Bogey Hole along the beautiful Newcastle coast.

Explore the rocks that tell stories of ancient volcanic eruptions, lush Gondwanan forests, vast rivers and mountains, and the splitting of Australia and New Zealand.

Escape to the dynamic coast, along beaches and rock platforms.

Experience how the geological history has shaped human history in our region, and how plants and animals rely on the coast for life.

Disabled Access

From $15 to $45

A 2.5 hour, 7.5 km return walk from Kahibah Memorial Park through forest trails, past waterfalls and along the beach in Glenrock State Conservation Area.

Explore how the underlying geology has shaped the landscape in Glenrock – from rainforest gullies, to spotted gum forests and coastal heath.

Escape to nature from everyday life amongst cascades and waterfalls, forests, beaches and beautiful views.

Experience the different plant communities and the birds and animals that thrive there, the use of resources by Aboriginals and Europeans, and conservation issues.
