Wester Gallery

Wester is an independently run gallery space in Mulubinba / Newcastle West for emerging and established contemporary creative visual artists.

Founded in 2022 by Newcastle artist Justin Lees and located in Newcastle West — one of Newcastle’s up-and-coming areas — they oversee a dynamic schedule of regular exhibition openings, events and private functions.

Wester provides a professional gallery space for recognised and emerging local, national or international multidisciplinary visual artists. Comprising of regular art exhibitions Wester has become a vital contributor to the rich cultural life of Newcastle and the Hunter.

The gallery comprises of one large gallery space, a Stockroom, and upstairs creative studios housing some of Newcastle’s leading creatives.

Wester hosts new exhibition openings, currently the first Friday of every month, with exhibitions running for three weeks, by exciting emerging, mid-career and professional artists making Wester Gallery worth the visit.
