Platypus Pool and Rock Carvings

Natural Attractions

In the early morning or late afternoon from both the eastern and the western side of the bridge, you may be lucky enough to view the platypus swimming or feeding in their natural environment. There are also fish, water fowl and ducks to be seen.

Best seen from the eastern side of Irving Bridge, the magnificent platypus rock carvings in the riverbed are a marvel to be viewed. Completed by artist Mick Thorman in 1994, they are a brilliant addition to the natural landscape of the mighty Richmond River.
