Killalea is called Arrijong by the First Nations People.

Escape the city and explore this spectacular coastal reserve. Less than 30 minutes south of Wollongong, take a day trip and feel worlds away from town.

Killalea Regional Park may be small in size, but there’s plenty to see and do here. Catch waves at its famous surf breaks, The Farm or Minnamurra Beach, also known as Mystics’ to the locals. Try your luck with fishing along the beaches or Minnamurra River. Or set up camp at Killalea campground for a relaxing weekend’s stay with the family.

In spring, spot and enjoy the expansive ocean views. Birdwatchers will find plenty to see. Threatened species including Australian bitterns and pied oystercatchers find refuge here. Patches of sub-tropical rainforest and coastal heath also host a diverse suite of birds, from yellow robins and golden whistlers to whip birds.

Killalea is home to remnant rainforest including massive Morton Bay figs. Rare coastal plants like the endangered white flowered wax plant and Illawarra zieria also grow here spot its petite white flowers from late winter to summer.

Frasers headland and Mystics view are popular wedding venues in Killalea Regional Park.
