Shoalhaven River

Natural Attractions

The mighty Shoalhaven River is one of Shoalhaven’s most famous natural assets, right up there with Pigeon House Mountain and Jervis Bay.

Stretching over 300 kilometres, it runs from Middle Mountain, near Moruya, all the way to Shoalhaven Heads. Its a haven for kayaking, walks, rock climbing and boating adventures and is dotted with eateries and campsites. You could meet the animals at Shoalhaven Zoo which is located near the river or spend a few hours among the trees on the Trees Adventure tree climb challenge. Feast on local seafood and produce at Ponte Restaurant or bring your own picnic to enjoy among the gorges of Ben’s Walk.

The river is a place of celebration too, the Shoalhaven River Festival is held annually in October.

Let your adventurous self run wild or unwind and relax, you can explore independently or meet up with one of their guides!
