Tropical Fruit World
Things To Do Duranbah, Tweed, New South Wales
More than just a farm and no ordinary tourist attraction, Tropical Fruit World has been a pioneer for eco-tourism since 1983.
Located 20 minutes from Gold Coast Airport—and only 10 minutes drive from Tweed Coast beaches and trendy coastal villages like Kingscliff—come and spend time on a 200-acre working farm featuring over 500 unusual tropical fruits from all over the world, while admiring views out over the region’s tallest mountain, Mt Warning (Wollumbin).
At Tropical Fruit World you’ll have a window into farming life and observe how a family farm manages to operate completely in harmony with its surroundings. Explore the in-house nursery, a retail shop with homemade products and shop for fresh produce at the onsite fruit market.
Admission tickets include a fully guided Plantation Safari with fruit tasting show, wildlife boat cruise of the island recreation area, fauna park (to meet kangaroos, emus and farm animals) and an introduction to Australian Bush Tucker. There are also workshops and specialty cultural experiences the whole family can enjoy.
Don’t depart without eating breakfast or lunch at Plantation Café, which showcases the best fruits in season picked fresh daily. Sampling the jackfruit nachos, dragon fruit cheesecake, or the always popular smashed avocado on sourdough.
