Ever wondered how olive oil is made? Come along to Varapodio Estate in Buronga for a tour of a working olive oil factory. There, the tour guides will explain the processes and give an insight into definitions and common misconceptions.

Afterwards, try some olives and oil in the cafe. Items are also available to purchase.

Services

Although “The Crush” occurs between May and September, an informative tour of the grove and processing facility is available all year round.

Topics include propagation, irrigation, fertilizing, harvesting and pruning of the olive tree. They also explain the processing of the olive fruit into extra virgin olive oil. They discuss the terms associated with olive oil such as virgin and extra virgin, and first cold press.

Both individuals and groups are more than welcome however bookings are essential.

Bus groups and tour groups can arrange to have morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea in conjunction with their tour.
