Ntaria Campground

Caravan, Camping and Holiday Parks

Ntaria Campground offers powered and unpowered campsites with communal kitchen and bathroom facilities. It also provides four self-contained 1-bedroom cabins with a full kitchen, bathroom, laundry and balcony. The cabins are fully fenced, with a windy-dryer clothesline outside and a shaded carport.

Ntaria, also known as Hermannsburg, is a community of around 600 people, 125 kilometres west of Alice Springs in the traditional lands of the Western Arrarnta people. Established in 1877 as a Lutheran mission, tourists today are welcomed to its historic precinct, with church buildings, tearoom, and art gallery.

Art enthusiasts are drawn to see the birthplace of Albert Namatjira, while outdoor adventurers visit the caravan park on their way to Palm Valley or the Mereenie Loop Road to Kings Canyon. Other nearby sites of interest are Wallace Rockhole, Ormiston Gorge and the Larapinta hiking trail along the West MacDonnell Ranges.

Ntaria Supermarket administers Ntaria Campground, a locally-owned business with all profits going back into the community.
