The Bundaberg and District Historical Museum is located in the Botanic Gardens, North Bundaberg is dedicated to the preservation and collection of the Bundaberg Region’s history for the benefit of the entire community. The Bundaberg Museum’s collection has progressed from being housed at “Normanby House”, which was the home of the President, Mrs Agnes Baker MBE in 1967 to where it is today.

The Museum has an extensive photographic and archival collection, which can be accessed by prior notice. On display, and unique to the area, is a large case of birds, all collected locally in the late 1800’s. Displayed there is a wealth of local knowledge and artefacts dating back to the early pioneers. Displays not to be missed include: the World Quilt; Lucke Quads Cyclops Pram; a case of birds by Charles Skyring, which won him a Certificate of Merit in 1873 from the Queensland Exhibition, Brisbane.
