Reef Sprinter

Cruises, Sailing and Water Tours

Reef Sprinter offers half-day tours to the Great Barrier Reef on a fun, fast and exciting speed boat so that you won’t get seasick!

They can take a maximum of 14 people so there will be no crowds. They take 15 minutes to get out to Low Isles or 40 minutes to get to the Outer Reef from Port Douglas. Reef Sprinter have two Low Isles Options, both with Glass Bottom Boats for those who still want to see the reef without getting in the water.

You can choose from Option A, where you snorkel from the back of the boat for an hour and a half or Option B where you go onto Low Isles itself and snorkel from the beach. The Outer Reef is snorkelling from the back of the boat and has no glass bottom boat option. Reef Sprinter tours are perfect for those who usually get sea sick or those who want half a day to do something else around Port Douglas.

This whole tour goes for 2 hours and 15 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to get out there on a fast, fun speed boat with a maximum of 14 people. You then snorkel for an hour and a half at our exclusive mooring located at Low Isles reef, one of just a few exclusive permits allowed to enter this World Heritage green zone sensitive site. Then a 15-minute trip home.

The reef that you’ll visit on Option A is very protected and has a vast quantity of quality corals and abundant fish species, with green turtles swimming nearby in the clear Coral Sea. On this tour, you don’t go onto the island, and you snorkel from the back of the boat. We own two exclusive permits right on the reef edge that allows just our 2 Reef Sprinter boats to visit this reef meaning there are no crowds at all!

See spectacular corals, turtles, and fish life only 15 minutes from Port Douglas, and you won’t get seasick. If it is windy, Reef Sprinter can be an exciting boat ride that may not be suitable for the frail or elderly or people with bad backs, bad necks, or pregnant.
