Bond Store
Things To Do Maryborough, Fraser Coast, Queensland
*Due to flooding this year the Bond Store is temporarily closed for building maintenance. We will advise once the building has reopened.*
Step back in time and experience the former Maryborough Bond Store and learn about Maryborough’s fascinating past.
The Bond Store was an essential part of Her Majesty’s Customs Service at the Port of Maryborough at the peak of immigration and trade in the mid to late 1800s. The building provided safe and secure storage for goods that attracted a tax including important essentials such as cigars, tobacco, rum, wine, spirits and opium.
The core of the building dates back to 1864 and still retains the earthen floors, historic handmade bricks and barrel rails left from that time.
Today the Bond Store has been reinvented as a store for regional produce and houses fascinating displays and artefacts documenting Maryborough’s Portside history.
Here you can sample a range of delicious regional ports and liqueurs in the authentic surrounds of the Bond Store. A small provedore on site provides a range of regional produce and products for sale.
