Things To Do Innisfail, Cassowary Coast, Queensland
The Innisfail Museum which is run by the Innisfail and District Historical Society Inc. contains a plethora of historical local artifacts which a volunteer will guide you through each Friday morning. You will learn about what life was like in the early days of Innisfail and its surrounding area.
There is a room allocated to the early Chinese pioneers of the district. Two restored paintings of the See Poy children (c. 1907-1910) take pride of place in the display.
Other rooms highlight cyclones which have impacted Innisfail and surrounds, local indigenous heritage, wartime items from both world wars, and other more general rooms.
The museum is open week day mornings between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon and on Saturday mornings between 9.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. Entry is by donation.
