Held Outside – Nature Connection Experiences

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

Held Outside provides guided nature connection experiences, often called nature therapy or forest bathing, for everyday adults and families. We can all benefit from the therapy nature offers, but sometimes we don’t know how or where to start.

In a guided nature therapy session, you will join a small group of people in a natural area. You will be guided through an awakening of your senses that increases mindfulness and connection with the other-than-human world. Some find relaxation and calm, some awe and wonder, some reflection and introspection. Every session is different.

Held Outside facilitates public walks as well as private groups on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi land (Sunshine Coast, Australia) as well as online nature connection video calls. They do this in the spirit of raising awareness of nature relationship for our ecological, community and individual wellbeing.

Join them to re-connect with nature and yourself.

Forest therapy follows a sequence of activities that awaken our senses and help us develop our relationship with nature, the more-than-human world. It is a simple and down-to-Earth practice that improves our wellbeing, strengthens connection to self, nature and other humans and acknowledges and reveres country.

“I arrived feeling … stress and fatigue and had a racing mind filled with everything I needed to do throughout the week. I left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, revitalised and centered.”

A growing body of research shows that spending time in nature is beneficial to our mental, physical and social wellbeing. Even more, spending time in nature mindfully or in the practice of nature/forest therapy can increase those benefits and develop within participants a stronger relationship with nature, sometimes termed ‘connection to country’. While enhancing individual health and resiliency, this quality of nature connection can also support intrinsic pro-environmental behaviours.
