Roonka Homestead Riverfront Accommodation
Where To Stay Blanchetown, Mid Murray, South Australia
Roonka Riverfront Homestead is located an hour and a half from Adelaide and eight kilometres out of Blanchetown along the Murraylands Road.
The historic homestead was originally built in 1873 as part of a huge sheep station. It has been used as accommodation for the last 16 years, having 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and enough bedding for 16 persons.
Only 2 of the cottages are now available for hire, the others are private holiday homes, and part of a community group along with the Homestead..
The Homestead is located on the riverfront about 40 metres from the water. A large verandah and outdoor kitchen is a major feature overlooking the river.
There are large lawned areas along the water’s edge and a jetty to fish from. The property has a boat ramp or you can fish, swim, bird watch, enjoy a range of water sports or just relax. Sit in front of an open fire or camp fire in the cooler months.
The property is an excellent location for family getaways or small groups looking for an escape.
