Nestled on the tranquil banks of the Murray River, about an hour and forty minutes north-east of Adelaide, Roonka River Adventure Park is a Scouts South Australia property specialising in creating memorable experiences through a shared love of water-based activities and the outdoors. Everyone is welcome.
With bunkhouse accommodation, camping for small or large groups, caravan sites, boat and watercraft launching facility, private billabong, a wide range of recreational activities and fully equipped kitchens, Roonka is ideal for a family weekend escapes, school camps, cultural and community groups, sporting and social clubs, and team building retreats.
Roonka’s six bunkhouse rooms can accommodate up to 58 people and have air conditioning (cooling only), power, modern bunks and mattresses.
Roonka offers undesignated unpowered camping areas, 18 powered sites and two glamping bell tents overlooking the billabong and playground.
Camping and bunkhouse bookings include access to all onsite facilities including playground, waterslide into the river and flying fox, with kayaks and canoes available for hire. All guests have shared access to seasonal campfire circles, shelter and shade areas, amenities block, camp kitchen and barbeques. Combined kitchen, dining and recreation rooms can be booked for exclusive use.
Roonka is an affordable and family-friendly base from which to explore the many and varied attractions of the Riverland.
