Our tours depart any day on demand from Quorn, Hawker, Rawnsley Park Station and Wilpena Pound Resort/campground.
The 4WD tours offered throughout the Flinders Ranges can be either half, three quarter or full day tours. Tours are through either the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park or on private property.
The cost includes morning tea and picnic lunch is also provided on the day tour. Paul and Astrid offer several different tours and will pick you up from your accommodation.
The Flinders Ranges offer endless photographic opportunities and we have a passion for the area we are proud to call home so we are happy to share his knowledge with you. We take a minimum of two and a maximum of four passengers for your comfort and can tailor a tour to suit your specific needs.

“Half Day” (four hour) or “Extenda” (six hour) – Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park Tour – with pick up from your accommodation.
Departing at 8.30am we spend four hours showcasing the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park which offers an abundance of wildlife including the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby, as well as Red kangaroos, Western Grey kangaroos, Euros or Wallaroos as well as some spectacular bird life.
We look at the amazing ancient geological rock formations of the Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, and including a viewing of an ancient marine fossil – the Archaeocyatha Fossil – 530 million years old.
The scenery is stunning and diverse – from deep inside the gorges to the open expansive views from the Razorbacks Lookout.
On the “Extenda” tour – we then visit the magical Aroona Valley where Hans Heysen stayed in the 1920’s and enjoy a picnic lunch in these beautiful surrounds. We also visit the incredible Stokes Hill Lookout were we can soak up the views.

On this tour we start by spending approximately three hours in a mountainous private property engaging low range 4WD and traversing sheep station tracks taking in breath taking scenery. Morning tea is spent enjoying magnificent views of Wilpena Pound as we travel along at the base of the Chace Range on the private property Arkapena 4wd Track.
From here we head north and enter the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park from the eastern side and travel along the Aroona Valley and Bunyeroo Gorge making our way up the national parks most spectacular lookout / viewing point known as Razorback Lookout for a photo stop.
We stop at a location that is home to a colony of the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby and there is a high chance of seeing some of these amazing multi coloured, endangered wallabies.
After picnic lunch we continue along the stony bed of the Brachina Creek / Gorge stopping to look at the 530,000,000 year old marine fossils and other amazing geological structures. From here we continue through the remainder of the national park and return to by approximately 5pm.

This tour runs for approximately 8 hours – enjoy the National Park gorges – and then head north to Parachilna and Glass gorge – what a full day!

We spend the day looking at the very best of the Central Flinders Ranges. We explore the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park and then further north.
The tour includes complimentary picnic lunch and morning tea and returns late afternoon (8 hours).
Day One: Depart 8am. We travel through the heart of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park via Bunyeroo Valley and Gorge, then follow Aroona Valley to the spectacular Brachina Gorge and have time to observe the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby. We continue north to the picturesque Parachilna Gorge and on to the historic copper mining town of Blinman for lunch.
After lunch we travel across this 600 metre high plateau to the eastern side of the Flinders Ranges across remote sheep station properties before we stop for a 4WD trek into Chambers Gorge, where you can view the gallery of ancient Aboriginal Rock Engravings. Continue on into the Gammon Ranges National Park and the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Resort. Check into your Mawson Room, dinner at the Native Pine Restaurant.
Day Two: Early breakfast before joining the exclusive, world famous, Arkaroola Ridge Top Tour – travel through the creeks, valleys and over the ridges of Arkaroola, climaxing with an amazing view from Sillers lookout and some lovely morning tea.
After lunch, return via Copley and Leigh Creek, Aroona Dam, we visit the famous “Prairie Hotel” for afternoon tea
