Mount Gambier Crater Lakes Trail

Natural Attractions

Enjoy walking, running or cycling through spectacular scenery set among Mount Gambier’s extinct volcanic crater lakes, on the Crater Lakes Trail.

Begin this 4.2 kilometre trail at either Mark’s Lookout, Lions Lookout, or the Rotary Clubs Lookout (Potters Point Lookout). The trail will guide you through the incredible landscape that makes Mount Gambier so unique. Follow the trail around the rim of the volcano craters, stopping at different lookouts along the way. This includes the Centenary Tower lookout where you can see panoramic views of the surrounding land. When the sky is clear, you can see all the way out to the southern ocean.

Signage will help guide your way as you continue along the trail.
